Syrian Local pages circulated photos of burning 2000 S.P. bills in the northwestern city of Idlib, as a kind of declaration of giving up the Syrian pound and replacing it with the Turkish lira.
After the controversy caused by this move within Syrian community, the photos circulated by the gunmen exposed themselves, and it became clear that the burning was nothing but a new play carried out by the militants who control Idlib in order to devalue the Syrian currency and abandon it.
Inspecting the circulated photos showed a clear falsification of their content. The mistakes of the photo-makers proved that what was actually burned are white papers with the design of the Syrian currency printed badly, as the corners were not cut accurately and kept in white, in addition, all the papers shown in the photos have the same serial number.Similar to “White Helmets” Plays But Different Actors: A Play of Burning the Local Currency in Northern Syria
