In response to US ousted Evo Morales’ MAS party’s triumph in Sunday’s presidential and general elections, gaining control of the executive and legislative branches of government if able to keep it, US media response was unenthusiastic to expressing displeasure.
Headlining “Morales party claims win as Bolivia seems to shift back left,” AP News bemoaned what it called an apparent “shifting sharply away from the conservative policies of the US-backed interim government.”
The wire service ignored the November 2019 made-in-the-USA coup d’etat that replaced democratically elected Morales with tyrannical fascist rule.
According to Reuters, “(t)he (Sunday election was a) body blow for Bolivia’s conservatives, who had hoped to present a new model for the country beyond Morales, who sought an unprecedented fourth term last year despite term limits, which had led to protests against him (sic).”
Reuters failed to explain US dirty hands behind Morales’ ouster from power, his legitimate reelection illegally overturned.
The NYT never met a US supported tinpot despot it didn’t wholeheartedly endorse — the same true in reverse for US opposed social democrats, consistently demonized by the self-styled newspaper of record.
In response to Sunday’s MAS party triumph in Bolivia, the Times headlined:
“Evo Morales Is Out. His Socialist Project Lives On.”
“Morales…fled the country last year after his run for a fourth term ended in accusations that he had committed election fraud (sic).”
The Times pushed the Big Lie about electoral fraud last year. None occurred.
Like other establishment media, its editors and correspondents ignored the US-orchestrated coup — hardline fascist rule replacing a free and open society.
