The Saudi-led coalition uses MIM-104 Patriot PAC3 systems to intercept missiles and rockets launched by the Houthis. Drones, however, are usually shot down by warplanes of the Royal Saudi Air Force with AIM-120 AMRAAM or with other air-to-air missiles.
In the last few days, the Houthis carried out a series of attacks on the international airports of Abha and Jizan as well as King Khalid Air Base.
The Houthis said their attacks were a respond to the Saudi-led coalition ongoing bombing campaign and its siege on Yemen.
