On January 7, Rusafa’s Court of Inquiry in the Iraqi capital Baghdad issued an arrest warrant for US President Donald Trump for the killing Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, Deputy-Commander of the Popular Mobilization Units.
A year ago, al-Muhandis was killed along with Iran’s Quds Fore Commander, Qassim Soleimani, and eight other people in a US drone strike on Bagdad International Airport.
In an official statement, the Supreme Judicial Council in Iraq said the arrest warrant was issued after the completion of the initial investigation.
“Investigation procedures will continue to find out the other participants in the execution of this crime, whether they are Iraqis or foreigners,” the statement reads.
Earlier this week, Iran issued a “red notice” to Interpol for President Trump and other US officials for the assassination of Soleimani.IRAQI COURT ISSUES ARREST WARRANT FOR TRUMP OVER ASSASSINATION OF PMU DEPUTY-COMMANDER
